London Marathon success for UCLMS staff

Beth Walker successfully completed the London Marathon this weekend running for Age UK and in memory of her grandmother who benefited a lot from the great work that Age UK does.  Despite a few setbacks with injuries and two knee injections a couple of weeks ago, she ran sub 5 hours at 4 hours 56 and is very relieved it’s all over! Hit the wall at mile 17 and had to walk for a bit, but had a return of enthusiasm from mile 20 onwards and finished on a high (with more blisters than when she started, and two less toenails…)  With friends, family and UCLMS colleagues’ help she has raised over £1500 (>£1900 including GiftAid) and counting.  Beth is incredibly grateful for all the support she’s received from everyone at work and would like to say a big thank you!
