NHS Change Day (March 3rd 2014)

On Monday 3rd March hundreds of thousands of people, working or studying within the NHS, publicly pledged to do things to improve our healthcare system. UCL Medical students led this ‘bottom up movement’ at UCLH, The Royal Free Hospital and the Whittington Hospital where they manned pledge boards. More than 350 individual pledges were given by staff, students and patients across the three hospital sites which were then reviewed in an evening follow up event where we also had a motivational talk from James Mountford (UCLP) about how our students can initiate change and improve quality in the NHS.

The student led MedSoc leadership team (http://www.medicalsociety.org.uk) are leading follow up events to ensure Change Day is not just a single day of pledges but a starting point for students to be involved in actioning the changes that matter in every day practice.
